Tide Pool @ Botany Bay

Marine fog @ Camp

We were back up in Juan De Fuca provincial park again this past weekend. We camped @ China Beach campground and trekked up to Port Renfrew and Botanical Beach. The air was cold in the evening and through the nights. Marine fog would come in off of the water and hang in the trees. The forests are thinner and the trees themselves smaller in stature, but not to say that this area is any less gratifying.

We ended up at China Beach today, approx 80km northwest of Victoria up the Straight of Juan De FucaI could imagine there might be worse places to live. In the distance are the Olympic Mountains of Washington State.

I've been living on Vancouver Island with my beautiful wife and my beautiful daughter for the past year and a bit . We live in Victoria but like to travel the island a lot. Although I have lived here in the past, there is something different about my experience this time. I am certainly in a space now that I can begin to realize the beauty of this place; I think that we are ready for her. Above is a photograph of Englishman River Falls.
